In 2020, SRO worked with CBR Media to extend its officially sanctioned sim racing franchise to Asia with the new GT World Challenge Asia Esports Championship. The championship was created to promote esports in Asia when real racing had come to a halt in the region due to the pandemic. CBR Media helped oversee and develop the format of the championship, and leveraged the platform for commercial opportunities. The goal was to curate this championship into a truly engaging Asian esports competition with several Real and Sim Pro and Am drivers from the region and promote the sport in across Asia. CBR Media was responsible for ensuring a smooth operation of the entire competition from start to finish and promoting it through PR, branding and advertising.
